European Event Management Tools
Event management software sells tickets, takes payments and handles check-in, so it processes names, email addresses and payment data for every attendee. These European alternatives to Eventbrite are run by companies in the EU, the UK and Switzerland, and several of them publish their fees and their data location.
How we rank these tools — 4-step process
-
1
European ownership, verified
The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA or Switzerland, and processes customer data in Europe. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.
-
2
Category fit and hands-on review
What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.
-
3
Compliance and pricing check
GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.
-
4
Position on this page
Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.
Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Paid placement can affect the order in which tools appear; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Frequently Asked Questions
For organisers who bring their own audience, pretix (Germany) is the strongest fit: open source, hosted in Germany and capped at EUR 15 per ticket. Ticket Tailor (UK) is the simplest flat-fee option. Billetto (Denmark) comes closest to Eventbrite because it also runs a consumer marketplace.
pretix publishes its Community Edition as open-source software under the GNU AGPL v3 with additional terms, so you can run it on your own server. The other tools in this list are managed services.
Weezevent (France) combines ticketing, access control, cashless wristbands and staff management. Eventfrog and Ticketino cover Swiss festivals, and Ticketino adds scanners and box-office systems.
ticketmatic (Belgium) is built for cultural organisations, with subscriptions, membership and seating plans. Ticketcounter (Netherlands) targets attractions and museums, and vivenu (Germany) serves large venues and sports clubs.
The Complete Guide to European Event Management Tools
Why the ticketing vendor matters
Every ticket sale creates a record of who attended which event, and event data can reveal political, religious or health-related interests.
Eventbrite, Inc. is a Delaware corporation, and its terms say that for users in the EEA and Switzerland it is the party responsible for personal data. A European vendor places that contract under European law and, in several cases here, keeps servers in Germany or Ireland. Check the contracting entity, not the marketing page, and ask where the database sits and which payment processors handle the money.
Fee models compared
Fee structures differ more than features. pretix charges 2.5% capped at EUR 15 per ticket, Ticket Tailor a flat GBP 0.60, Tito 3% capped at EUR 25, and Eventfrog offers a CHF 0 Free model with paid Plus and Pro tiers.
Others, such as ticketmatic, vivenu and doo, quote prices on request. Payment processor fees are normally charged on top, and some platforms let you pass the fee to the buyer. Model your own average ticket price before choosing, because a cap favours expensive tickets and a flat fee favours cheap ones.
Marketplace or own shop
Eventbrite is partly a marketplace that sends buyers to your event. Among the European tools, Billetto and Eventfrog run consumer listings, while pretix, Ticket Tailor, Tito and Ticketino are ticket shops that you embed in your own site and promote yourself. If you already have an audience, an embedded shop keeps the customer relationship with you; if you need discovery, choose a platform with a listing and check what the advertising costs.
