European EHS Software Tools

EHS software holds incident records, injury data, audit findings, chemical registers and legal obligations, which makes it one of the more sensitive systems a plant runs. These European vendors cover safety, chemicals and environmental compliance under EU, UK or Norwegian law, from Berlin to Rheine, Stockholm and London.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Quentic GmbH of Berlin, founded in 2007 and part of AMCS since 2022, is the most module-rich EHS suite on this list, covering chemicals, legal compliance and carbon accounting.
  • EcoOnline, headed by EcoOnline AS in Norway, is the tool on this list with safety data sheet authoring and emergency response products.
  • Vatix in London and CheckProof in Stockholm are the two vendors that publish prices: from £199 a month for Vatix and from $16 per user a month for CheckProof.
  • BlueKanGo of Cesson-Sévigné is the only vendor whose checked pages name its hosting provider, OVHcloud in France.
  • Winlassie, secova sam, 4HSE and denxpert are each tied to the rules and language of one country: France, Germany, Italy and Hungary.

European EHS software is a cloud system for recording incidents, audits, chemicals, legal obligations and training across a workforce, supplied by a company established in Europe so that contracts, data processing and disputes fall under European law instead of a US-led transfer framework.

Every European EHS software tool reviewed

#1 Quentic

Berlin, Germany Founded 2007 Not published (demo on request) Demo on request

Best for: Industrial companies that want safety, chemicals and a legal register in one German-built system

  • Operating company. Quentic GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Intelex, Enablon

Quentic is a Berlin software-as-a-service vendor for EHS and sustainability management. Its own site lists health and safety, occupational health, hazardous chemicals, risks and audits, incidents and observations, legal compliance, online instructions, control of work and environmental management, plus carbon accounting. A mobile app and analytics sit across those modules.

The legal notice names Quentic GmbH, entered in the Berlin Charlottenburg commercial register as HRB 109492. The company page says it was founded in 2007, employs over 300 people and joined the AMCS group in 2022. The platform is offered in German, English, French and Dutch. Prices are not published, and the pages checked do not state where customer data is hosted.

What Quentic does well

  • Chemicals, legal compliance and instructions are separate modules
  • CSRD and sustainability tooling on the same platform
  • Contracts with an entity registered in Berlin
  • Four interface languages: German, French, Dutch, English
  • States its group ownership openly

Where Quentic falls short

  • Pricing needs a sales conversation
  • Data hosting location not on the pages checked
  • Owned by the AMCS group since 2022
  • Bought through a demo

Standout feature. Quentic pairs a legal compliance module with carbon accounting under a Berlin-registered company.

#2 EcoOnline

Not stated on pages checked, Norway Not published (demo on request) Demo on request

Best for: Nordic and UK organisations with a large chemical inventory across several countries

  • Operating company. EcoOnline AS (group)
  • Jurisdiction. EEA, not EU (Norway)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Intelex, VelocityEHS

EcoOnline offers chemical management with safety data sheet authoring, together with audits and inspections, control of work, incident and risk management, emergency response, lone worker, training and ESG. The site has nine regional versions, from the UK and Ireland through the Nordic countries to Australia, New Zealand, the US and Canada.

The privacy policy says it is issued by group companies headed by EcoOnline AS in Norway, including EcoOnline AB, OY, ApS, GmbH and EcoOnline UK Limited, and also North American entities such as Alcumus LLC. Product lines come from acquisitions such as Sypol, Nordic Port, ALMEGO and D4H, so separate logins are possible. Prices and the headquarters city were not stated on the pages checked.

What EcoOnline does well

  • Detailed chemical and safety data sheet tooling
  • Crisis response and lone worker products in the group
  • Country sites for the Nordics and the UK
  • Parent company in Norway
  • Training and ESG modules included

Where EcoOnline falls short

  • Quote-only pricing
  • North American entities sit in the group
  • Acquired products may need joining up
  • The signing entity varies by country

Standout feature. EcoOnline is the only tool on the list that couples safety data sheet authoring with emergency response.

#3 Ideagen

Nottingham, United Kingdom Pricing on request Demo on request

Best for: Larger groups that want quality, EHS and compliance processes bought from a single supplier

  • Operating company. Ideagen plc
  • Jurisdiction. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on the pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. MasterControl, Veeva Vault QMS

Ideagen is a Nottingham software group, and the product page describes a quality management system that joins document control, CAPA, audits, training, supplier quality and inspection management. Quality is one of three families on the group site, next to EHS and compliance, so records can be shared with audit and risk modules.

The terms of use identify Ideagen plc as a company registered in England and Wales under number 02805019, with its office at One Mere Way, Ruddington, Nottingham. The page names ISO 9001 including the 2026 edition, ISO 13485, 21 CFR Part 11, AS9100 and IATF 16949 as built in, which are vendor statements to verify in an audit. Customer stories name Nuffield Health, South Tees NHS and Torbay Pharmaceuticals. No price is published and hosting was not stated.

What Ideagen does well

  • CAPA, audits, training and supplier quality together
  • Tracking of regulatory change feeds into workflows
  • Registered in England and Wales with a company number
  • ISO 13485 and 21 CFR Part 11 are named on the page
  • Reference stories in healthcare and pharma

Where Ideagen falls short

  • No published price
  • Where data is hosted is not stated
  • A wide portfolio may exceed what a small team needs
  • Standards coverage is the vendor's own claim

Standout feature. Ideagen links tracking of changes in standards and regulations to its quality workflows.

#4 Vatix

London, United Kingdom Essentials from £199/month plus £19 per extra user, billed annually, excluding VAT Demo on request

Best for: Mid-sized UK teams that are moving from spreadsheets to formal safety management

  • Operating company. Vatix Limited
  • Jurisdiction. United Kingdom (adequacy decision, outside the EEA)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Intelex

Vatix is an incident, audit and risk platform from London. Events can be reported through a QR code, the mobile app or the web, and the platform adds audits and inspections with scoring and photos, action tracking, document management and risk assessments. A lone worker app, device and alarm receiving centre come from the related business.

The legal page gives 30 Great Guildford Street, London as the address and the privacy policy names Vatix Limited. The pricing page lists Essentials from £199 a month with five standard users, then £19 per extra user, billed annually and excluding VAT. The entry plan caps forms at five and audit templates at 20. Environmental and chemical modules were not seen, and hosting is not stated.

What Vatix does well

  • Price list on the website
  • Lone worker app, device and alarm centre
  • Reporting via QR code
  • Photo-based audit scoring
  • Named company with a London address

Where Vatix falls short

  • No environmental or chemical modules seen
  • Five forms and 20 audit templates on the entry plan
  • Priced in pounds sterling
  • Hosting region not stated

Standout feature. Vatix lets an employee report an event from a QR code without logging in, with a lone worker alarm centre in the same group.

#5 CheckProof

Stockholm, Sweden From $16 per user per month billed annually (Basic), $30 (Core), $45 (Pro) Demo on request

Best for: Quarry, cement and aggregates sites that combine safety inspection rounds with maintenance

  • Operating company. Checkproof AB
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Sweden)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Intelex

CheckProof is a checklist-driven tool for heavy industry. The pages describe inspections, issue follow-up, work orders, preventive maintenance, offline use and multi-site setups, so a finding from a round can become a maintenance job in the same system.

The privacy policy names Checkproof AB, registration number 556975-9615, as controller, and the about page says the company was founded in Stockholm and has users in more than 35 countries. The pricing page lists Basic at $16, Core at $30 and Pro at $45 per user per month on annual billing, and a free trial is offered on the Pro tier. The Basic tier caps checklists at five. A legal register or chemical module was not found.

What CheckProof does well

  • Per-user prices on the website
  • Checklists and work orders as the core
  • Registered in Sweden
  • Trial available on the Pro tier
  • Aimed at specific industries

Where CheckProof falls short

  • Dollar pricing
  • No legal or chemical register seen
  • Narrow heavy-industry scope
  • Basic and Core tiers limit checklists

Standout feature. CheckProof turns an inspection finding into a maintenance work order inside the same tool.

#6 secova sam

Rheine, Germany Not published (demo access offered) Demo on request

Best for: German plants with many outside contractors and recurring instruction duties

  • Operating company. secova GmbH & Co. KG
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Enablon

secova sam is the EHS system of secova GmbH & Co. KG from Rheine. The site lists a sam base system with a cockpit, a qualification matrix, a voting app and VR instruction, while the feature list names the Gefährdungsbeurteilung (the German risk assessment), contractor management, hazardous substances, 3D instruction, incidents and maintenance.

The imprint places the company at Max-Born-Str. 4 in Rheine, registered at Amtsgericht Steinfurt as HRA 5569, and German law applies. The pages are in German, pricing is not published and demo access is offered. Hosting and certification details were not seen, and the international footprint looks smaller than that of Quentic.

What secova sam does well

  • Instruction in VR and 3D
  • Handles outside contractors
  • Matrix for qualifications
  • Contracts with a German company
  • Offers demo access

Where secova sam falls short

  • Pages only in German
  • Price not published
  • Hosting not stated
  • Limited presence outside Germany

Standout feature. secova sam puts VR instruction inside an EHS system, which no other entry here lists.

#7 4HSE

San Martino Buon Albergo (Verona), Italy SME plans at a fixed price per worker tier (amounts not seen) Demo on request

Best for: Italian SMEs and safety consultants who run workplace safety for several clients

  • Operating company. 4HSE Srl
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Italy)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Intelex

4HSE presents a single platform without separate modules. Its features include deadlines, PPE, training, documents, audits, multi-site governance and integrations. On the SME plan, users and storage are unlimited and the price depends on a worker tier, though the amounts were not seen.

The terms of service name 4HSE Srl with its registered office at Viale del Lavoro 33, San Martino Buon Albergo near Verona, and say disputes go to Italian jurisdiction. The site has pages for consultants and for public bodies. Chemical and carbon reporting were not seen, and the focus on Italian regulation makes multi-country legal registers weaker than at Quentic.

What 4HSE does well

  • Everything included, no module list
  • SME plan has no cap on users or storage
  • Contracts with an Italian company
  • Dedicated pages for consultants and the public sector
  • The terms state the jurisdiction

Where 4HSE falls short

  • Amounts not seen
  • Centred on Italian rules
  • No ESG module found
  • Hosting not stated

Standout feature. 4HSE sets its SME price by worker tier and lets the number of users grow without a charge.

#8 BlueKanGo

Cesson-Sévigné, France Not published (demo on request) Demo on request

Best for: French organisations and critical operators that combine QHSE with CSR and cyber risk

  • Operating company. BlueKanGo SAS
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. OVHcloud (France)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Enablon

BlueKanGo is a French platform that promotes QHSE, CSR, security and cyber risk, regulatory compliance and an AI assistant from one place, with training and consulting offered by the vendor. The cyber and security side is what separates the pitch from a plain safety tool.

The legal notice describes a société par actions simplifiée at 90 rue Robert Keller, 35510 Cesson-Sévigné, registered in Rennes. Of all tools on this page, BlueKanGo is the one whose checked pages name the host, OVHcloud in France. The site is in French and shows no price, module detail was not checked, and it is unclear how far the vendor operates outside France.

What BlueKanGo does well

  • Hosting named as OVHcloud in France
  • QHSE, CSR and cyber risk in one platform
  • AI assistant on the product page
  • Offers training and consulting itself
  • Registered in Rennes

Where BlueKanGo falls short

  • French-language site
  • No price shown
  • Module detail not checked
  • Reach outside France unclear

Standout feature. BlueKanGo connects QHSE records to cyber risk and CSR on a platform hosted by OVHcloud in France.

#9 Winlassie

Lyon, France Not published Demo on request

Best for: French companies that track risk assessment and authorisations, including nuclear sites and MASE contractors

  • Operating company. Imagine Human France SASU
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Enablon

Winlassie is QHSE software from Imagine Human, with modules for DUERP, the French single risk assessment document, plus authorisations and training, radiation protection, audits and meetings, work-accident (AT/MP) events and equipment. The site lists four editions: Online, Nucléaire, TPE&PME and MASE, the last being a French contractor certification.

The legal notice names Imagine Human France, a SASU with capital of 250,080 euros, registered in Lyon as RCS 752 677 260 at 20 rue de la Villette. The site and terms are French and pricing is not published. The pages checked show no environmental or ESG module, and the tool is narrower than EcoOnline for chemicals. Hosting was not stated.

What Winlassie does well

  • A DUERP module
  • Editions for nuclear sites and MASE
  • A radiation protection module
  • Registered in Lyon
  • Covers audits and meetings

Where Winlassie falls short

  • French-language only
  • Price not published
  • No ESG module seen
  • Hosting not stated

Standout feature. Winlassie offers a separate Nucléaire edition with a radiation protection module next to its standard Online edition.

#10 denxpert

Not stated on pages checked, Hungary See website Demo on request

Best for: Central European industrial companies that need legal registers in local law

  • Operating company. denxpert EHS&S software Kft.
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Hungary)
  • Where the data sits. Not stated on pages checked
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Cority, Enablon

denxpert separates an EHS suite from an ESG suite. Modules named on its site include legal registers, chemical and waste management, safety and incident tracking, water and air, a task manager, crane safety, CSRD compliance and AI features, and a Hungarian legal essentials register is mentioned.

The privacy policy, updated on 25 June 2026, names denxpert EHS&S software Kft. and cites the GDPR and Hungarian law. The pages checked did not state the city, the hosting region or the price. The coverage is strongest for Hungary and neighbouring markets, and the vendor is smaller than Quentic.

What denxpert does well

  • Legal registers for local law
  • Waste and chemical management
  • Tools for CSRD work
  • Registered in Hungary
  • Crane safety module

Where denxpert falls short

  • Price not seen
  • Concentrated on one region
  • Smaller vendor
  • Hosting not stated

Standout feature. denxpert keeps a separate ESG suite beside its EHS suite and adds a crane safety module.

How do I choose between the European EHS tools?

Start with the work that fills your week, not with the module list. If it is chemicals and safety data sheets, EcoOnline is the tool on this page that describes SDS authoring and emergency response. If it is a mixed load of legal compliance, instructions and carbon accounting, Quentic lists all of those. If you inspect plant and fix equipment, CheckProof is built around checklists and work orders.

Then check the country. 4HSE follows Italian rules, secova sam follows German ones, Winlassie and BlueKanGo are French-language products and denxpert is strongest in Hungary and nearby markets. A group with plants in several countries should rank Quentic and EcoOnline first, since both are sold in several languages.

Which European EHS vendors publish their prices?

Two do. Vatix lists Essentials from £199 a month with five standard users, plus £19 per extra user, billed annually and excluding VAT. CheckProof lists Basic at $16 per user per month, Core at $30 and Pro at $45, all billed annually. Both prices are in non-euro currencies, which matters for budgeting.

The rest work on quotes. 4HSE sells SME plans at a fixed price per worker tier but the amounts were not visible, and denxpert points to its website without a figure on the pages checked. Quentic, EcoOnline, Ideagen, secova sam and BlueKanGo ask for a demo first, and Winlassie does not publish a price.

Does a European contracting entity settle the data residency question?

It settles who you contract with, not where the servers are. Quentic, CheckProof, secova sam, 4HSE, BlueKanGo, Winlassie and denxpert are sold by EU companies, while EcoOnline is headed from Norway, and Ideagen and Vatix are UK companies under an adequacy decision rather than EU law.

Only BlueKanGo states a host on the pages checked, OVHcloud in France. For the other tools, put the hosting region, the sub-processor list and the support access model into the procurement questionnaire before you shortlist.

What is different about migrating from Cority?

Cority covers safety, occupational health, environment and sustainability on one platform, and its privacy policy relies on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework for transfers of European data. Quentic, EcoOnline, Vatix, CheckProof, secova sam, BlueKanGo, Winlassie, 4HSE and denxpert all list Cority as a system they can replace on their tool pages.

The work is in the configuration: custom forms, approval flows and reports have to be rebuilt, and an occupational health layer may not exist in the new tool at all. Request a data dictionary and an import template, and run one site first. Our Cority comparison page covers the transfer question in more detail.

When should a company not switch to a European EHS tool?

Stay put when the current system is the only one that holds your occupational health and exposure records and none of the candidates shows an equivalent module. The pages checked for Vatix, CheckProof, 4HSE and Winlassie show no environmental or chemical modules, so they cannot absorb a full environmental workload.

Also wait if your estate spans many countries and your shortlist is national. A French-only or German-only tool cannot serve a group rollout, and splitting the estate adds an integration that someone must own.

Which tools cover quality management as well as EHS?

Ideagen is the clearest case: the product page describes document control, CAPA, audits, training and supplier quality in one platform, with change management that tracks standards and links them into workflows. BlueKanGo and Winlassie both describe QHSE, which joins quality with health and safety in the French market.

If your main burden is a quality system and EHS is the second use case, compare Ideagen with the dedicated tools in our quality management category before you decide.

How we selected and ranked these 10 tools

Every tool on this page is in the European Purpose directory, which means the operating company is established in Europe and we have verified that from the company register or the vendor's own legal notice rather than from a marketing page. Tools headquartered outside Europe are not eligible, however good they are.

  1. Feature verification (weight: 40%). We check each capability against the vendor's own documentation and product pages, and record what the tool does rather than what the category is assumed to include.
  2. Ease of adoption (weight: 30%). Integrations, published API access, trial availability and how much configuration stands between signing and a usable result.
  3. Value and transparency (weight: 30%). Published pricing counts in a vendor's favour; quote-only pricing is recorded as quote-only rather than estimated. We weigh what a buyer gets for the entry price, not the headline feature count.
  4. Editorial review. Every page is researched and drafted with AI assistance, and the compliance and pricing claims are checked against the vendor's documentation before it is published under the founder's editorial responsibility. The three weights above decide the order; a position is a ranking against the other European tools in this category, not an absolute score.

Vendor-reported outcomes — ROI figures, margin uplift, time saved — are labelled as vendor claims wherever they appear on this page. We have not audited them, and neither has anyone else who quotes them. Read our full editorial process for how pages are re-verified.

Frequently asked questions

Quentic ranks first on this site for module breadth and a Berlin contracting entity, followed by EcoOnline for chemicals and Nordic coverage and Ideagen for combined quality and EHS. Vatix and CheckProof are the picks if a published price matters. The right answer depends on your country, your chemical load and your size, so the table above is a better guide than a single winner.

BlueKanGo, whose checked pages name OVHcloud in France. Winlassie is also a French company, based in Lyon, but its hosting was not stated on the pages we read.

They are listed because the UK holds an adequacy decision and both companies are registered in the UK. Their legal footing differs from an EU entity, since they sit outside the EEA, so the transfer assessment needs a separate line.

Several list Cority as a system they replace, including Quentic, EcoOnline, Vatix, CheckProof, secova sam, 4HSE, BlueKanGo, Winlassie and denxpert. None of their pages claim the same occupational health depth, so confirm that module before you plan an exit.

CheckProof and Vatix show prices that a small team can budget from, and 4HSE sells SME plans with unlimited users. For small French businesses, Winlassie lists a TPE&PME edition.
