European Carbon Accounting Software

Carbon accounting software turns energy bills, travel, purchases and supplier data into a greenhouse gas inventory across Scope 1, 2 and 3. The inventory ends up in CSRD and customer reports, so the tool holds spend data, supplier names and product bills of materials. These European options are contracted by companies in the EU, the UK and Germany, with the vendor imprint and register entry as the legal basis.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect the order tools appear in. It never buys a listing: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects whether a tool is listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Plan A is the only vendor on this list whose calculation method carries a TÜV Rheinland certification, which is why the Berlin company sits first for buyers who need an outside body to vouch for the numbers.
  • Climatiq is the one tool here that prints euro figures on a public pricing page (Data Pro at €3,000 a year, PCF Pro from €4,900), while Normative, Greenly, Cozero, Sweep, Dcycle, ClimatePartner, Carbmee, Altruistiq and Plan A all route you to a sales conversation.
  • Altruistiq trades as Expanding Circle Ltd in England and Wales, so it is a UK contract rather than an EU one, and Sweep opened a Denver office in 2025 although it remains headquartered in Paris.
  • Carbmee, Climatiq, Dcycle and ClimatePartner all calculate product carbon footprints, but they start from different places: ERP transactions at Carbmee, a factor database at Climatiq, a product LCA module at Dcycle and consultant-assisted datasets at ClimatePartner.
  • Cozero, Climatiq, Carbmee, ClimatePartner and Altruistiq do not name a hosting region on the pages we read, so a buyer with a residency clause has to ask each of them in writing before signing.

European carbon accounting software is the category of tools that convert energy, travel, purchasing and supplier data into a Scope 1, 2 and 3 greenhouse gas inventory, sold by vendors contracted in the EU, the UK or Switzerland, which matters because the inventory exposes supplier names, spend and product recipes to whoever hosts it.

#1 Plan A

Berlin, Germany (also Paris, France) Founded 2017 Quoted on request, not published Demo on request

Best for: Companies that need an external body to vouch for the method and a reduction plan, not only an inventory

  • Operating company. Plan A GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Persefoni, Watershed

Plan A takes first place because it is the only platform here whose methodology has been examined by an independent certifier. TÜV Rheinland certification, a GHG Protocol-compliant approach, B Corp status and a stated SOC 2 position give an auditor or a procurement team several outside reference points. The product side leans on what happens after measurement: AI-assisted decarbonisation modelling, target-setting and supplier engagement tools meant to produce a reduction plan.

Plan A GmbH was founded in 2017 by Lubomila Jordanova and Nathan Bonnisseau, is headquartered in Berlin and keeps a second office in Paris.

The company has raised roughly $40M, including a $27M round in 2023, and its own site lists BMW, Visa, KFC, Sorare, Alphabet and Mollie as clients, which are vendor statements. Pricing is quoted only after a demo, there is no free tier, and the two-office setup means you should ask in which country your data is processed.

What Plan A does well

  • TÜV Rheinland certified methodology, independent validation most competitors lack
  • GHG Protocol compliant, B Corp certified and SOC 2 compliance stated
  • Decarbonisation modelling and target-setting beyond measurement
  • Established client base including BMW and Visa, per the vendor

Where Plan A falls short

  • No published pricing; quote-only through a demo
  • No free tier
  • Two offices (Berlin and Paris) make data-processing questions less clear-cut
  • Smaller scale and office footprint than Position Green

Standout feature. Plan A pairs a TÜV Rheinland certified calculation method with decarbonisation modelling, so the reduction plan inherits the same third-party validation as the inventory.

#2 Normative

Stockholm, Sweden Founded 2014 Not published; contact sales Demo on request

Best for: Teams without an in-house carbon specialist who want a named adviser attached to the software

  • Operating company. Normative
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Sweden)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Watershed, Persefoni

Normative is the veteran of this list and the one that treats human guidance as part of the product. Every account comes with a named Climate Strategy Advisor who is certified in the GHG Protocol and works directly with your data and methodology, which suits a finance team handling its first inventory. Behind that sits a database that Normative describes as 349,000 verified emission factors.

The company was founded in Stockholm in 2014 by Kristian Rönn, Adam Wamai Egesa and Robin Undall-Behrend and also operates from Copenhagen and London.

Normative states that it has consulted with the European Commission on emissions accounting standards and contributed to a UN initiative on the topic. The costs of the advisor model are a bundled price you cannot see, no free tier or self-serve trial, and fewer named compliance modules than broader platforms, with no dedicated CBAM or EUDR module mentioned.

What Normative does well

  • Founded 2014, one of the oldest dedicated carbon accounting vendors in Europe
  • Named GHG Protocol-certified advisor included on every account
  • Large emission factor database of 349,000 verified factors
  • Track record of policy involvement with the European Commission and a UN initiative

Where Normative falls short

  • No published pricing anywhere on the public site
  • No free tier or self-serve trial
  • Advisor-bundled model is less pure self-serve and may cost more
  • Fewer named compliance modules than broader platforms

Standout feature. Normative includes a named, certified climate advisor on every account as standard, something no other tool on this list promises by default.

#3 Climatiq

Berlin, Germany Founded 2021 Free Starter plan (non-commercial); Data Pro €3,000/year; PCF Pro from €4,900/year; Enterprise on request Free Starter plan for non-commercial use

Best for: Consultants, product teams and software vendors that need documented factors and PCF calculations, with a price they can read

  • Operating company. Climatiq Technologies GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Watershed, Persefoni

Climatiq works from the data layer upwards, which makes it the odd one out among the ten. Studio products serve sustainability teams, with PCF Studio for product footprints and Data Studio for the emission factor collections, while an API lets developers embed calculations in their own software. The company counts over one million emission factors and names integrations with Celonis, Salesforce, Oracle, IFS and IntegrityNext.

Climatiq Technologies GmbH was founded in 2021 and is registered in Berlin at the Amtsgericht Charlottenburg under HRB 230334 B.

It is also the only vendor that shows money on the page: a free Starter plan for non-commercial use, Data Pro at €3,000 a year for a single user and PCF Pro from €4,900 a year, with API access reserved for the custom Enterprise plan. Premium datasets cost extra, the hosting location is not stated, and the pages we read describe no CSRD report builder, so a full inventory needs another tool or your own process.

What Climatiq does well

  • Prices published for three of four plans
  • Free Starter plan to test the data
  • API and Excel integrations
  • German company with a register entry
  • PCF audit documentation in PCF Pro

Where Climatiq falls short

  • Not a full reporting suite
  • API only on Enterprise
  • Premium datasets cost extra
  • Data hosting region not stated

Standout feature. Climatiq is the only tool on this list that publishes euro prices, which lets a buyer budget a product footprint project before talking to sales.

#4 Greenly

Paris, France Founded 2019 Quoted on request; three named tiers, no numeric prices published Demo on request

Best for: Small and mid-sized companies that want a scoped first conversation and life cycle analysis in the same package

  • Operating company. Greenly
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Persefoni, Watershed

Greenly is built for the company that finds an enterprise suite oversized. Its pricing page names three tiers: GHG Report Compliance for Scope 1 and 2 accounting with financial-method Scope 3, Climate Action Ready, which it calls the most popular, with a physical Scope 3 analysis, and Net Zero Contributor with scenario simulation, a trajectory builder and a dedicated project manager. No amounts are printed, but you know what you are choosing between before the call.

The company was founded in Paris in 2019 and supports TCFD, SBTi, CBAM and EUDR, with life cycle analysis alongside Scope 1 to 3. The cautions are practical. Every tier still ends in a contact form, the API, SSO and extra entities or activity modules are separate add-ons that lift the effective cost, and no certification is stated on the pricing page. Greenly also has less independent analyst recognition than Sweep.

What Greenly does well

  • Three named, feature-differentiated tiers instead of one "contact sales" button
  • Life cycle analysis included alongside Scope 1 to 3 accounting
  • Built for SMB and mid-market with less enterprise overhead
  • Covers TCFD, SBTi, CBAM and EUDR frameworks

Where Greenly falls short

  • No numeric prices; tiers are named but not priced
  • No certifications stated on the pricing page
  • Add-ons priced separately can grow the effective cost
  • Less independent analyst recognition than Sweep

Standout feature. Greenly spells out what each of its three tiers contains, so a small company can scope the purchase without first booking a demo.

#5 Cozero

Berlin, Germany Founded 2020 Not published; demo request Demo on request

Best for: Finance-led teams that want to treat carbon as a budget line, with forecasts and abatement costs

  • Operating company. Cozero GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Where the data sits. AWS cloud environment; region not stated on the security page
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Watershed, Persefoni

Cozero describes its product as carbon controlling, and the language is deliberate: forecasts with carbon price scenarios, targets, and a ranking of reduction actions by return on investment, payback period and marginal abatement cost. Data comes in by bulk upload, API or direct supplier input, and the calculation engine uses more than one million vetted emission factors with room for custom ones. Auditors get read-only access and an immutable audit trail.

Cozero GmbH was founded in 2020 and is registered at the Amtsgericht Berlin-Charlottenburg under HRB 218586 B. Be careful with the CSRD claim, because the vendor's page scopes it to ESRS E1 climate data. Hosting is described as an AWS environment with no region named, no Cozero-specific certification is stated (only the attestations of its cloud providers are listed), and there is no published pricing, only a demo request.

What Cozero does well

  • Carbon controlling approach with forecasting, carbon price scenarios and ROI-ranked actions
  • Over one million vetted emission factors and custom factor support
  • Supplier engagement for Scope 3 and PCF solutions
  • Audit management with read-only access and an immutable audit trail

Where Cozero falls short

  • CSRD coverage is scoped to ESRS E1 climate data on the vendor’s own page
  • Hosted on AWS with no region named on the security page
  • No published pricing; demo request only
  • No Cozero-specific certification stated; only its cloud providers’ attestations are listed

Standout feature. Cozero puts emissions into financial terms, with carbon price scenarios and ROI-ranked reduction actions in the same system that produces the disclosure data.

#6 ClimatePartner

Munich, Germany Pricing on request via demo Demo on request

Best for: Mid-sized and large German-speaking companies that want software and consultants from one provider

  • Operating company. ClimatePartner GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Watershed, Persefoni

ClimatePartner sells a hybrid: the ClimatePartner Hub for carbon accounting, supplier engagement and reduction, with consultants who help structure complicated datasets. For a team without a carbon specialist that is a real advantage, because part of the work is done for you. The cost is that the result partly depends on services, not only on software, and the same vendor also sells certified climate projects and carbon credits for remaining emissions.

The imprint names ClimatePartner GmbH at St.-Martin-Strasse 59 in Munich, registered at the Amtsgericht München under HRB 181521. The company says more than 6,000 companies work with it, which is a vendor figure.

The platform covers corporate footprints across Scopes 1 to 3, product footprints from raw material to end of life, supplier requests for primary data, and reports aligned with CSRD, SBTi and the GHG Protocol. The founding year is not stated on the pages we read, prices come only through a demo, and the hosting region is unnamed.

What ClimatePartner does well

  • Software and consultants combined
  • Corporate and product footprints
  • Supplier data requests
  • German company with a register entry
  • Reports for CSRD and SBTi

Where ClimatePartner falls short

  • Prices on request
  • Part of the value is consulting
  • Also sells climate projects
  • Hosting region not stated

Standout feature. ClimatePartner is the only vendor here that puts consultants inside the software offer and also sells certified climate projects for the emissions left over.

#7 Dcycle

Madrid, Spain Founded 2019 No price list published; "Start for free" sign-up and a demo request are offered on the website Demo on request

Best for: Spanish and Southern European product companies that report under EINF and CSRD and want a self-serve way in

  • Operating company. The Wake Up Movement, S.L. (trading as Dcycle)
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Spain)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Watershed, Persefoni, Workiva

Dcycle is the Madrid entry and the only one on the list that names Spain's EINF non-financial statement and the MITECO emission factors explicitly. The platform is aimed at businesses that make, transform and move physical goods, and it folds supplier, facility, purchasing and workforce data into one model. Frameworks listed include CSRD, GHG Protocol, GRI, CDP, EcoVadis, SBTi, PPWR, EUDR, VSME and the ISO 14001 family.

The operating company is The Wake Up Movement, S.L., entered in the Madrid Mercantile Registry in October 2019.

Modules cover product LCA, a CDP questionnaire, supplier engagement, multi-entity consolidation, integrations with SAP, Sage and Dynamics, and an assistant called Leia plus an MCP server for natural-language queries. A Start for free sign-up exists, but its limits are unstated, there is no price list, the trust center could not be read so certifications are unverified, and figures such as 70 percent less reporting time are the vendor's own.

What Dcycle does well

  • Spanish regulatory coverage including EINF and MITECO emission factors
  • Broad framework list from CSRD and CDP to ISO 14001 and EUDR
  • Self-serve "Start for free" sign-up alongside demo requests
  • Supplier engagement, product LCA and multi-entity consolidation in one platform

Where Dcycle falls short

  • No published price list and free-tier limits are not stated
  • Certifications could not be verified on the pages we read
  • Efficiency figures such as 70 percent less reporting time are vendor claims
  • Industrial and product-company focus is less suited to a services firm

Standout feature. Dcycle combines Spain's EINF and MITECO regulatory depth with CSRD, CDP and product LCA, and lets you open an account without a sales call.

#8 Sweep

Paris, France (also London, UK) Founded 2020 Not published; quoted after a demo call Demo on request

Best for: Large organisations that want analyst-rated carbon and ESG management and accept a quote-only process

  • Operating company. Sweep
  • Jurisdiction. EU (France)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Watershed, Persefoni, Workiva

Sweep is the platform on this list that leads with independent recognition: Leader in the 2026 IDC MarketScape for Carbon Management and in the 2026 Verdantix Green Quadrant for enterprise carbon management. It is B Corp certified and registered as an Entreprise à Mission, a French status that writes social and environmental commitments into the bylaws. Measurement, reporting and reduction planning sit in one product, with data collection automation for complex group structures.

Sweep was founded in 2020 by Rachel Delacour, Yannick Chaze and Raphael Güller and is headquartered in Paris, with a London office. It belongs to the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, France Invest and IETA. Two points for a procurement file: no price is published and every quote follows a demo call, and the company opened a Denver office in 2025 as part of a US expansion, though it remains headquartered and incorporated in France.

What Sweep does well

  • Named a Leader in both the 2026 IDC MarketScape and the 2026 Verdantix Green Quadrant
  • B Corp certified and a legally registered Entreprise à Mission, not only a marketing claim
  • Measurement, reporting and reduction planning in one platform
  • Member of the Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, France Invest and IETA

Where Sweep falls short

  • No published pricing; every quote needs a demo call
  • No free tier or self-serve trial
  • US office in Denver opened in 2025 as part of a US expansion

Standout feature. Sweep is one of few European carbon vendors named a Leader by both IDC and Verdantix in the same year.

#9 Carbmee

Berlin, Germany Founded 2021 Packages listed on the site without prices; pricing on request Demo on request

Best for: Manufacturers and importers with SAP or Oracle that need Scope 3 and CBAM data from transactions

  • Operating company. Carbmee GmbH
  • Jurisdiction. EU (Germany)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Watershed, Persefoni

Carbmee builds the footprint from transaction records instead of surveys. It connects to ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle, reads procurement data and recalculates product carbon footprints dynamically as inputs change, tracing a number from the bill of materials to the board report. Separate solution pages cover CSRD, CBAM, EUDR, PPWR and Catena-X PCF, plus carbon cost forecasting and a digital battery passport.

Carbmee GmbH sits at Rosenthaler Strasse 36 in Berlin and is registered at the Amtsgericht Charlottenburg under HRB 225879 B.

The company says it was founded in early 2021 and works from Berlin and Munich, targeting enterprise manufacturers in automotive, consumer goods and electronics. It states 98 percent emission factor matching accuracy and go-live within one to three days, both its own claims. Prices are not published, the hosting region is not named, and a small services company will find most of the modules irrelevant.

What Carbmee does well

  • ERP-connected transaction data
  • Product carbon footprint module
  • CBAM and EUDR coverage
  • German company with a register entry
  • Supplier engagement included

Where Carbmee falls short

  • Aimed at large manufacturers
  • No published prices
  • Hosting region not stated
  • Performance figures are vendor claims

Standout feature. Carbmee derives Scope 3 and product footprints from ERP transaction data, with CBAM and EUDR modules sold as separate solutions.

#10 Altruistiq

London, United Kingdom Demo booking; pricing on request Demo on request

Best for: Food and beverage brands that need ingredient-level product footprints and primary supplier data

  • Operating company. Expanding Circle Ltd (trading as Altruistiq)
  • Jurisdiction. UK (outside the EU)
  • Source code. Closed source
  • Replaces. Watershed, Persefoni

Altruistiq specialises in one sector. It describes itself as an enterprise sustainability platform for food and beverage, with corporate footprints, product footprints at ingredient level and supply chain decarbonisation based on primary supplier data. Listed use cases include franchise emissions in Category 14, on-pack sustainability claims and sustainable procurement, and the case studies come from brands such as Huel and Meadow Foods.

The contracting party is Expanding Circle Ltd, trading as Altruistiq, company number 13115702 in England and Wales, with its registered address at One London Wall.

That makes it a UK company outside the EU, which is a point for any buyer who requires an EU entity. The site states 220,000 or more curated emission factors updated quarterly and SOC 2 and ISO 27001 certification, both vendor statements. Prices come only via a demo, the founding year and hosting region are not stated, and outside food and beverage the fit weakens.

What Altruistiq does well

  • Ingredient-level product footprints
  • Supplier primary data
  • Sector-specific use cases
  • SOC 2 and ISO 27001 stated
  • Advisory services available

Where Altruistiq falls short

  • Food and beverage focus
  • UK, not EU
  • No published prices
  • Hosting region not stated

Standout feature. Altruistiq is the only tool here built around a single industry, with ingredient-level footprints and sector use cases such as franchise emissions and on-pack claims.

Do I need an emissions inventory tool or a full sustainability reporting suite?

Start from the output you owe someone. If a customer questionnaire, an SBTi target or a first Scope 3 baseline is the deadline, you need an inventory engine: activity data multiplied by emission factors, with an audit trail.

Plan A, Normative and Greenly begin there and add planning on top. If the deadline is an annual sustainability statement, you want the reverse, a reporting layer with a footprint inside it, and the honest reading of the list is that Dcycle and Sweep lean that way.

Cozero shows why the distinction matters. Its own CSRD page scopes the coverage to ESRS E1 climate data, not the whole set of standards, so it fits a company that treats carbon as the core metric and writes the remaining chapters elsewhere. Dcycle takes the opposite stance and promises every ESRS data point, plus EINF and CDP. Read the vendor's scope sentence, not the framework logo row.

What does European carbon accounting software cost when almost nobody prints a price?

Only Climatiq publishes numbers: a free Starter plan restricted to non-commercial use, Data Pro at €3,000 a year for a single user, and PCF Pro from €4,900 a year. Premium datasets such as ecoinvent, IEA and CarbonMinds are listed as extras, so the bill follows the data you choose. Greenly shows a tier structure without amounts, with three named plans and add-ons for API access, SSO and extra entities that are priced separately.

Everyone else quotes after a demo. That is normal for a product sold to finance and sustainability leads, but it means the comparison happens on your side of the table: send the same inventory brief, the same number of legal entities and the same reporting scope to three vendors and compare what comes back.

Dcycle offers a self-serve Start for free sign-up, although the limits are not stated, which makes it the cheapest way to look at a real interface before talking to anyone.

Which of these tools can calculate a product carbon footprint?

Five of the ten state product-level work. Carbmee reads bills of materials and procurement records from ERP systems such as SAP and Oracle and recalculates the footprint as inputs change. Climatiq sells PCF Studio and, in PCF Pro, audit documentation under ISO 14067. Dcycle bundles a product LCA module next to the corporate footprint, and Greenly includes life cycle analysis in its offer.

Altruistiq and ClimatePartner approach product footprints through supplier primary data. Altruistiq works at ingredient level for food and beverage brands; ClimatePartner covers raw material to end of life and puts consultants next to the software. A services firm with no physical product can skip this question entirely and choose on Scope 3 spend-based accuracy instead.

Is a European vendor enough to keep emissions and supplier data under European law?

The contracting entity is the part you can verify. Plan A GmbH, Cozero GmbH, Climatiq Technologies GmbH, Carbmee GmbH and ClimatePartner GmbH are German companies with register entries, Normative is Swedish, Greenly and Sweep are French, and Dcycle is operated by a Spanish S.L. Altruistiq is the exception: it is the trading name of Expanding Circle Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, which is a UK contract and not an EU one.

Hosting is a separate question and the evidence is thin. Cozero states an AWS environment without naming a region. Climatiq, Carbmee, ClimatePartner and Altruistiq do not state a data location on the pages we read. Plan A runs from Berlin and Paris, and Sweep from Paris and London, so ask where processing happens before assuming one jurisdiction. Put the answer in the data processing agreement rather than in an email.

How hard is it to move a Scope 1, 2 and 3 baseline away from Watershed?

Plan on re-running history, not copying it. Watershed advertises its own library of 2.3 million emission factors, and none of the tools above will reproduce those factors line by line.

Normative cites 349,000 verified factors, Cozero over one million, Climatiq over one million and Altruistiq 220,000 curated ones, so the same electricity bill can land on a different number. Export your activity data and your methodology notes, load the last two closed years into the new tool and accept a restatement.

Keep the old figures alongside the new ones for one reporting cycle and document the factor change in the methodology section. Auditors accept a documented restatement far more readily than an unexplained jump. If a target year already sits in an SBTi submission, ask the new vendor how it treats base-year recalculation before you commit.

When should a company stay with a non-European platform?

When the footprint is not the hard part. Watershed describes measurement of water and land use next to carbon, a marketplace for carbon removal and clean power projects, and AI agents for data cleaning, and a multinational that runs its sustainability programme across seven offices on three continents gets value from that breadth. Nothing on this list is built around that scale of global coordination.

The case for switching is narrower and more concrete: a procurement rule that requires a European contracting party, a customer who asks where supplier data sits, or a smaller company that is paying for an enterprise suite it uses at a fraction of capacity. If none of those applies and the programme runs well, a migration is a cost without a matching benefit.

How we selected and ranked these 10 tools

Every tool on this page is in the European Purpose directory, which means the operating company is established in Europe and we have verified that from the company register or the vendor's own legal notice rather than from a marketing page. Tools headquartered outside Europe are not eligible, however good they are.

  1. Feature verification (weight: 40%). We check each capability against the vendor's own documentation and product pages, and record what the tool does rather than what the category is assumed to include.
  2. Ease of adoption (weight: 30%). Integrations, published API access, trial availability and how much configuration stands between signing and a usable result.
  3. Value and transparency (weight: 30%). Published pricing counts in a vendor's favour; quote-only pricing is recorded as quote-only rather than estimated. We weigh what a buyer gets for the entry price, not the headline feature count.
  4. Editorial review. Every page is researched and drafted with AI assistance, and the compliance and pricing claims are checked against the vendor's documentation before it is published under the founder's editorial responsibility. The three weights above decide the order; a position is a ranking against the other European tools in this category, not an absolute score.

Vendor-reported outcomes — ROI figures, margin uplift, time saved — are labelled as vendor claims wherever they appear on this page. We have not audited them, and neither has anyone else who quotes them. Read our full editorial process for how pages are re-verified.

Frequently asked questions

Plan A is the strongest all-round pick, thanks to its TÜV Rheinland certified methodology and reduction planning, with Normative second for buyers who want a named climate advisor on the account. Climatiq is the choice for factor data and product footprints with published prices, Greenly suits smaller companies, and Carbmee suits manufacturers with SAP or Oracle. Sweep, Cozero, Dcycle, ClimatePartner and Altruistiq cover the remaining cases, from analyst-rated enterprise platforms to food and beverage.

Climatiq is the only one with euro prices on its pricing page, from a free non-commercial Starter plan to Data Pro at €3,000 a year and PCF Pro from €4,900 a year. Greenly names three tiers but gives no amounts. Plan A, Normative, Cozero, Sweep, Dcycle, ClimatePartner, Carbmee and Altruistiq all quote after a demo or contact request.

Two entry points exist, with caveats. Climatiq has a free Starter plan, but it is limited to non-commercial use and five basic product footprints. Dcycle offers a Start for free sign-up whose limits are not stated. None of the others lists a free tier; they offer a demo instead.

Nine are: Plan A, Cozero, Climatiq, Carbmee and ClimatePartner in Germany, Normative in Sweden, Greenly and Sweep in France, and Dcycle in Spain. Altruistiq is the exception. It trades as Expanding Circle Ltd, registered in England and Wales, so a UK contract applies. Sweep and Plan A also keep offices in London and Paris respectively.

Normative puts a named, GHG Protocol-certified Climate Strategy Advisor on every account. ClimatePartner works with consultants next to its software and also sells certified climate projects. Altruistiq sells implementation, engagement and advisory services alongside the platform. Greenly's top tier adds a dedicated project manager.

Sweep, Dcycle, ClimatePartner and Carbmee state CSRD support next to the footprint, and Dcycle claims every ESRS data point. Cozero limits its CSRD coverage to ESRS E1 climate data on its own page, and Climatiq is a calculation layer without a report builder. Check the vendor's own scope statement before relying on any framework badge.
