WoodWing Software B.V. in Amsterdam sells WoodWing Assets, the enterprise DAM long known as Elvis DAM before the current branding, aimed at agencies, publishers, retail and manufacturing teams that need centralised storage, customisable metadata, role-based access and automated tagging workflows. Version 10 adds an updated interface, built-in photo and video editing and AI auto-tagging, and it integrates with Adobe Creative Cloud, which matters for a publishing or design team already living in that toolchain.

The deployment choice is the thing that sets it apart from most of this category: an organisation can run it on its own servers or take WoodWing Cloud as a managed option, without changing product. That is close to Pimcore's self-hosting argument, though WoodWing Assets is closed-source and licensed rather than free, and pricing is quoted per organisation with no published figures — expect a sales process and, for on-premise, an implementation project.

WoodWing is a Dutch company, so the processing sits squarely inside the EU. For an organisation that has already ruled out Filecamp for being too simple and Pimcore for requiring an open-source commitment, WoodWing Assets is a reasonable middle path: enterprise features, a real choice of where it runs, at enterprise pricing.
