Detailed Review
Teamscale is aimed at the whole software quality picture: static analysis, security findings, clones, architecture, test coverage and even requirements. The pricing page lists 5,300+ static checks and 580+ SAST rules, available on all plans.
It is made by CQSE GmbH, registered at Amtsgericht Munich (HRB 177678), and the operations page states the service follows ISO/IEC 27001:2022.
Test gap analysis
Beyond finding defects, Teamscale highlights code that changed but was never exercised by tests, and can show those test gaps in pull requests and in Jira. This is a feature set most pure SAST tools do not offer.
Language and tool coverage
The supported language list is long, from Java, C#, C/C++ and Python to ABAP, COBOL, Ada and IEC 61131-3 Structured Text, which suits mixed legacy and embedded estates. Integrations cover GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, Gerrit and Subversion.
Plans
The Starter plan is SaaS only and capped at 15 contributors and 3 repositories. Enterprise raises that to 500 contributors and 300 repositories and adds the on-premises option, single sign-on and hybrid cloud connection.
Limitations to Consider
The cheapest plan is SaaS only, so on-premises use means the Enterprise tier at EUR 115 per contributor per month. The product covers a lot of ground and takes setup time compared with a simple pull request linter. The SaaS hosting region was not stated on the pages checked.
Who Should Use Teamscale
Mid-size and large engineering teams, especially with mixed or legacy languages, that want one European vendor for quality, security and test analysis.
