Detailed Review
Springcast B.V. is based in Almere (KvK 78356954) and was founded in 2019 according to its own timeline. It reports more than 2,000 podcasters and organisations and a management system certified to ISO/IEC 27001:2022, audited by Brand Compliance under RvA accreditation.
Its pages are written for procurement and security teams as much as for creators: a Trust Center, a downloadable DPA under GDPR Article 28 and a public sub-processor register sit alongside the pricing.
Documented EU Data Residency
Springcast states that all processing takes place inside the European Economic Area. Applications run in the Netherlands, Germany and Finland, audio, video and artwork are delivered through a CDN in the Netherlands, statistics are processed in the Netherlands and backups are in the Netherlands and Germany. It states that no podcast data goes to the US for the core platform.
Standard terms are based on the NLdigital framework.
Creator Plans
Essential (EUR 9 per month, excluding VAT) covers one podcast and one user with unlimited episodes and downloads, basic analytics, a branded website and player, and chapters, but no video or transcripts. Professional (EUR 19) adds unlimited users, 250 members for a private podcast, advanced analytics, unlimited transcriptions, 50 GB of video storage and YouTube integration. Scale (EUR 49) adds unlimited members, personal RSS feeds, an API for member management, custom data and an MCP connection.
Organisations and Internal Podcasts
Springcast also sells a business platform on invoice for internal podcasts, onboarding and training content, multiple workspaces and API access. Pricing for those plans is not published on the creator pricing page.
Limitations to Consider
Each creator plan covers one podcast, so several shows mean several subscriptions or an organisation plan on request. Essential has no video or transcripts, and member features, the API and the MCP connection need Scale at EUR 49. Springcast is a smaller vendor than the US hosts and the pages we reviewed were in Dutch, with English, German and Danish versions offered. For a free entry plan look at Podigee.
Who Should Use Springcast
