Detailed Review
Sliplane's central idea is that the server, not the application, is the unit you pay for. The Starter server is 1 vCPU, 1 GB of RAM and 20 GB of storage for €9 a month, and every container that fits on it is included.
The company describes itself as two former freelance web developers who had run client hosting for more than ten years before turning their tooling into a product.
Pay for the Box, Not for Each App
Larger servers step up from Base (2 vCPU, 2 GB, €17.80) through Large (4 vCPU, 8 GB, €45.00) to XX-Large (16 vCPU, 32 GB, €224.00). Billing can be hourly, monthly (20 percent off) or yearly (33 percent off).
Egress is free, collaborators are unlimited and SSL certificates are included, so the bill does not grow with traffic or team size.
Anything That Runs in a Container
A repository on GitHub or an image from a registry is enough: the platform detects a framework, builds, and restarts with zero downtime. One-click presets cover common self-hosted software such as CMSes and automation tools.
A REST API accepts the same service definitions from a script or a CI pipeline.
Regions and a Confidential Option
Servers can be placed in Germany, Finland, the US or Singapore. For data with special privacy requirements there is Germany (Confidential), an isolated region with dedicated CPUs that you unlock by accepting a Confidential Data Agreement.
A data processing agreement is available from the dashboard.
Limitations to Consider
Capacity is bought as servers, so one busy app can use up the headroom of its neighbours; the pricing page does not describe per-app autoscaling. A demo server is deleted after 48 hours unless you add a payment method. The pricing is subject to a Fair Use Policy, and prices exclude VAT. Teams that want a per-pull-request environment out of the box should look at Upsun or Scalingo.
Who Should Use Sliplane
Freelancers, agencies and small product teams that run a handful of containerised apps and want one fixed server price, from a German company.
