Detailed Review
Revo Uninstaller is made by VS Revo Group Ltd. in Ruse, Bulgaria, and has been since 2007. It does one job: it runs a program's own uninstaller and then scans for the files, folders and registry entries that uninstaller left behind, which on a Windows machine that has been in use for a few years is where much of the clutter comes from.
There is a free edition, and Revo Uninstaller Pro is sold as a lifetime licence with a year of updates included, at a list price of $24.95, plus a portable edition licensed for unlimited PCs. The vendor offers a 60-day money-back guarantee, the longest in this category.
What Revo Uninstaller does well
- Does one job — removing leftovers — and does it thoroughly
- Free edition available
- Pro is a lifetime licence, not a subscription
- 60-day money-back guarantee
Where Revo Uninstaller falls short
- Not a full optimization suite: no privacy tuning or disk cleanup suite around it
- Windows only
- Updates beyond the first year cost extra
Standout feature. A lifetime licence and a 60-day money-back guarantee on the tool that fixes the thing optimizers usually only report: software that never fully left.
