Detailed Review
Onomondo is a Copenhagen company that describes itself as infrastructure rather than resale: its pages say it built and runs its own core network and integrates 680+ networks in 180+ countries into it. Customers choose a plastic SIM, an MFF2 chip or a software-only SoftSIM.
The management platform is aimed at people who debug devices. It offers live network logs, a traffic monitor with real-time packet tracing per device, and a network marketplace where you decide which networks a SIM may attach to.
One core, many networks
Because every radio network is integrated into the same core, Onomondo can show traffic and signaling data for a device wherever it roams. The pricing page lists signaling logs, radio module identification and cell tower location on the Fleet and Enterprise plans.
A network list lets you restrict a SIM to the operators you trust in each country, which helps when a market has a network with poor IoT behaviour.
Pricing that scales by plan
The pricing page shows four tiers. Sandbox is for testing, with up to 100 free SIMs and a EUR 50 monthly data credit. Pro, Fleet and Enterprise charge from EUR 0.0025 per MB, and Fleet adds Magic Mode, where a SIM that sends no data in a month is not billed.
Phone support is missing from Pro, and VPN and IPSec, audit logs and single sign-on are reserved for Enterprise.
eSIM and leaving
The newer Onomondo eIM switches operator profiles over the air on devices already in the field, designed for the SGP.32 standard, and can be used with SIMs from other sources.
Its own comparison table lists freedom to leave (moving SIM keys to a new vendor) only on Enterprise, so that is a point to negotiate if you start on a lower tier.
Limitations to Consider
Entry tiers lack features that matter to larger fleets: phone support on Pro, VPN and IPSec and audit logs below Enterprise, and the freedom-to-leave option below Enterprise.
Paid-plan prices are shown as starting figures, with a contact step for the actual quote. The company history on its site mentions both 2012 and 2018 as start dates, so the founding year is not stated here. Teams that only need a very cheap SIM for tiny messages may find the flat-fee model of 1NCE cheaper.
Who Should Use Onomondo
Product and DevOps teams building connected devices who want visibility into signaling and traffic per device, and who prefer a Danish contracting entity.
