Detailed Review
Jahia positions itself between a classic enterprise CMS and a full DXP.
Its pricing page compares two plans, Enterprise CMS and Enterprise DXP, and the second adds the customer data and experience layer: visitor profiles, content personalisation, dynamic content lists and analytics dashboards. The legal notice on its site names Jahia Solutions Group, registered in Geneva under number CHE-112.474.724, and the privacy policy names Jahia Solutions Group SA as data controller, so a buyer in Europe signs with a Swiss company.
The product is built for estates with many sites. The site describes unlimited site creation, multisite and multilingual management, a visual editor and a headless mode in which a separate front end talks to a GraphQL API. A migration tool that reads a site from its URL and rebuilds its components is part of the AI features it lists, and the model behind them can be chosen from several providers or replaced with the customer's own.
Customer data and personalisation
The DXP edition includes a customer data platform that collects visitor data, unifies it into profiles and applies it inside the CMS, according to Jahia's CDP page. Rules for segments and scoring are managed in the same environment as the content, which removes the integration project that a separate CDP normally needs.
Which data sources feed the profiles beyond the website is not spelled out on the pages read, so a buyer with CRM or commerce data should ask for the connector list.
Hosting, security and compliance
Jahia Cloud runs the software and servers for the customer, with a 99.9% production availability commitment, single-tenant isolation, a managed web application firewall and encryption at rest and in transit. Hosting options listed are France (OVH), Ireland or North Virginia (AWS) and Singapore, and the company says its ISO 27001 certification dates from 2019. Customers who prefer to operate it themselves can deploy on-premise.
Two of the four cloud regions are outside the EU, and AWS is a US provider, so a European buyer has to make the choice of region explicit in the contract.
Developer model
Jahia describes a modular OSGi-based platform in which modules can be updated on a running instance, with a provisioning API for automated deployments and extension hooks in the editing interface. Its GitHub organisation publishes many of its modules under Apache-2.0 or MIT licences, while the commercial product itself is sold by subscription.
The stack is Java, React and GraphQL, so teams without Java skills will lean on partners.
Limitations to Consider
No prices are published and no free tier exists, so evaluation starts with a demo request. Two of the four hosting regions are outside the EU and one provider is AWS. The platform is Java-based and aimed at multisite estates, which makes it heavier than a small-site CMS. Compared with CoreMedia, the customer count the vendor cites is modest.
Who Should Use Jahia
Marketing and IT teams at organisations with dozens of brand or country sites, and portals with logged-in users, that want content and visitor data in one product. Teams that only need a headless content API are better served by Storyblok or Enonic.
