Demo on request
Best for: Site owners and agencies that want a screened WordPress developer and one price for the whole job
Codeable is a Danish matching service for WordPress and WooCommerce projects. The client describes the job, interested developers apply, and the platform returns one estimate, which its pricing page says is the average of the offers received. Codeable adds a fixed 17.5% service fee that, according to the vendor, covers vetting, training and customer service.
The contracting party is Codeable ApS in Klampenborg, so the client terms fall under Danish law. The terms promise to fix bugs reported within 28 days after completion, and the pricing page lists a refund policy and client ownership of the intellectual property. Sample prices run from USD 420 for speed and security work to USD 3,200 for e-commerce builds.
What Codeable does well
- Developers are screened before they can take work
- No bidding round, a single estimate
- The 17.5% fee is fixed and stated up front
- A 28-day period for fixing bugs sits in the terms
- Contract with a Danish company
Where Codeable falls short
- Covers WordPress and WooCommerce only
- Quoted in US dollars
- Hard to negotiate the estimate
- The USD 80 to 120 hourly basis is not low-end pricing
Standout feature. Codeable is the only platform here that turns a project brief into one price instead of a set of competing bids.

Best for: Biotech, medtech and food companies buying a medical writer, statistician or lab consultant for a bounded job
Kolabtree is a freelance network for scientists and regulatory specialists. Its homepage names Moderna and Biogen among clients and states more than 20,000 experts in over 175 countries, which are the vendor's own figures. The services menu lists medical writing, clinical evaluation reports, EU MDR consulting, literature searches and statistical analysis.
The operator is Cactus Communications Limited, with a London address in the footer and privacy policy. A project can be visible to selected freelancers only, and the terms carry a default NDA and confidentiality clause. Clients deposit funds after choosing a freelancer, and the how-it-works page lists milestones and timesheets. The commission was not shown on the pages checked.
What Kolabtree does well
- Profiles are biologists, statisticians and regulatory writers
- A brief can be restricted to chosen freelancers
- Confidentiality and NDA wording is built into the terms
- Staged payment through milestones and timesheets
- Operator registered in the United Kingdom
Where Kolabtree falls short
- Out of scope for design, marketing or software work
- Commission is not stated on the pages checked
- Rates are shown in US dollars
- Sign-up pushes you toward a LinkedIn login
Standout feature. Kolabtree lets a client restrict who can see a project, which suits briefs that describe unpublished research.

Best for: IT, engineering and consulting freelancers in German-speaking markets, and the companies that hire them directly
freelancermap is a German project board that earns from subscriptions and takes no commission on the work. Freelancers get a free Basis tier with ten applications a month, or Premium at EUR 13.99 a month without the cap. Companies post free of charge, and the Business and Enterprise plans at EUR 59 and EUR 89 a month add postings, contact requests and CV downloads.
The imprint names freelancermap GmbH at Pretzfelder Strasse 7 to 11 in Nuremberg, and the homepage reports over 82,600 profiles, 900 open projects and more than 2,000 new listings a week, all vendor figures. The platform does not hold funds or issue contracts, so invoicing and any payment dispute stay between the two parties, with an optional indemnity insurance linked from the footer.
What freelancermap does well
- Zero commission on the work
- Free profile and free project posting
- Premium is €13.99 a month
- Imprint of a German GmbH is published
- Big directory of IT profiles
Where freelancermap falls short
- No escrow, milestones or dispute handling
- Ten applications a month on the free tier
- Parts of the interface appear in German
- Little supply outside IT and consulting
Standout feature. freelancermap lets a freelancer keep the full invoice, because its income is a monthly subscription and not a share of the project.

Custom pricing; the Freelancer Management System uses a percentage fee on contractor payments, quote on request
Demo on request
Best for: Agencies and in-house teams that engage many contractors and need onboarding, compliance and payment in one system
YunoJuno began in London in 2012 as a community for creative and tech freelancers and now sells mainly a system for managing a contractor workforce. The product pages list direct sourcing, onboarding, worker classification, timesheets, SOW management and reporting. The top 5% vetted creative and tech pool is sold as an add-on.
The terms name YunoJuno Limited, registered in England and Wales. Payments run in multiple currencies in 165+ countries, and the FAQ says contractors never pay to join, work or get paid. No price is published: the Freelancer Management System charges a percentage of contractor payments, and modules such as the API are add-ons, so the bill is set in a sales conversation.
What YunoJuno does well
- Onboarding, classification and payment sit in one workflow
- Contractors are never charged
- Payments reach 165+ countries
- Pool of vetted creative and tech talent as an option
- Operator and terms are published for England and Wales
Where YunoJuno falls short
- Price is available only on request
- Several modules are billed separately
- More system than one hire needs
- Onboarding goes through sales
Standout feature. YunoJuno treats the legal classification of a contractor as part of the product, not as something the client assembles.
Barcelona, Spain
Free request with no commitment; commission set in each assignment notification form, not published
Demo on request
Best for: Telecom operators and consulting firms that need senior technology, data or transformation consultants
Outvise sells expertise by role. The request form lists categories such as IoT architects, 5G experts, data engineers, SAP consultants and agile coaches, then asks how long the work lasts and what is to be delivered. An account manager contacts the client afterwards, and the home page describes the first request as 100% free and without commitment.
The terms are with OUTVISE, S.L., whose corporate address is in Barcelona, and the site comes in English, German and Spanish. The terms say the consultant is paid by wire transfer once the client has paid and the commission has been deducted, using the percentage in a notification form for each assignment. That percentage is not published, so it has to be requested.
What Outvise does well
- An account manager prepares the shortlist
- Roles in IT, data and telecom are well catalogued
- The first request costs nothing and binds nobody
- Spanish company with terms on the site
- English, German and Spanish versions
Where Outvise falls short
- The commission rate is not public
- Request-and-match takes longer than self-service
- Range is limited to business technology
- Poor fit for a small, cheap task
Standout feature. Outvise sets its commission for each assignment in a notification form, so the percentage must be asked for instead of looked up.

Twine is a London marketplace for creative and technical work: video and animation, graphics, audio, marketing content, app and web development and AI data work. Posting is free, vetted freelancers answer with their rates, and the homepage promises a match within 24 hours. Payment goes direct or through the vault.
The Standard account costs USD 0 a month and carries a service fee from 5% on a sliding scale that falls as lifetime payments to one freelancer on a project grow. Business is USD 139.99 per project and adds a customer success rep, personalised vetting and invoiced billing. The operator is Clowdy Limited, trading as Twine, registered in England and Wales. Extras include an AI job agent and a one-page website tool.
What Twine does well
- Posting a project costs nothing
- Repeat work with one freelancer lowers the fee
- Freelancers are screened against the brief
- You choose direct payment or the vault
- English-registered operator
Where Twine falls short
- Billing in US dollars
- Business plan keeps billing until you cancel
- Little depth in specialist niches
- The sliding scale above 5% is not itemised
Standout feature. Twine lowers its service fee as the payments to the same freelancer add up, so staying with one person becomes cheaper.
Paris, France

Best for: European companies that hire across France, Spain, Belgium, Germany and the UK and want the platform to do the billing
Malt is a French marketplace that runs country sites such as malt.fr and malt.de. This entry rests on excerpts from its help centre and legal pages, because its own pages sit behind a bot check. Clients choose Starter, Advanced or Enterprise, and for the first two pay a percentage of the freelancer invoice that depends on the country. Malt issues two invoices, one for the work and one for its fee.
The legal entity is Malt Community SA in Paris. According to Malt, its fees pay for platform tools, a cash advance for freelancers and mission protection of up to EUR 20 million, and a referral programme pays 5% of the invoiced amount for 12 months. One help article says freelancers pay nothing, another describes a freelancer commission that falls over time. Member counts could not be confirmed.
What Malt does well
- Country sites across several European markets
- Work and platform fee are invoiced apart
- Freelancers can take an advance on invoices
- Stated mission protection of up to EUR 20 million
- Legal entity entered in the Paris register
Where Malt falls short
- The fee changes with plan and country
- Help articles disagree on the freelancer fee
- Direct fetching of the site was blocked
- Fewer niche experts than topic-specific networks
Standout feature. Malt sends the client one invoice for the freelancer work and another for its own fee, which keeps the platform cost visible.

Best for: German-speaking freelancers in IT, engineering and administration who send several applications a week
freelance.de is a Munich project database. The homepage states 3,600+ open projects, 352,400+ freelancers and 52,700+ project providers, and the listings cover ICT, engineering, administration, marketing, finance, law and more. Up to ten search agents watch for matching projects, with filters for availability and remote work.
The tiers are priced by application volume: Basic is free with two applications a day, Starter costs EUR 8, Expert EUR 19 and Expert+ EUR 33 a month. The imprint names freelance.de GmbH on Nymphenburger Strasse in Munich, entered as HRB 163159. A separate price page covers staffing agencies, so many listings pass through an intermediary, and no payment or invoicing layer exists.
What freelance.de does well
- Freelancers pay no placement fees
- Paid tiers start at €8
- Large counts of freelancers and providers
- Search agents replace manual browsing
- Munich commercial-register number is in the imprint
Where freelance.de falls short
- Site and prices are in German
- Two applications a day without paying
- No contract or payment support
- Many listings come from agencies
Standout feature. freelance.de prices its tiers by how many applications a freelancer may send, not by a share of what they earn.

Best for: Buyers who would rather compare priced service packages than write a job post and read proposals
Fiverr turns the usual marketplace around: sellers publish packaged services, and buyers choose one. The homepage cites about 700 categories, from logo design and voice-over to AI development, and country sites in English, German, Spanish, French, Brazilian Portuguese, Italian and Dutch. The footer lists Fiverr Pro, a project management service and an expert sourcing service, which carries a 100% money-back guarantee according to the homepage.
The German imprint names Fiverr International Ltd. at 8 Kaplan St., Tel Aviv, and a Cypriot company, Fiverr Limited in Nicosia, for payments. Fee rates did not appear on any page that loads without scripts and the full terms of service could not be read, so cost and contracting details are not claimed here.
What Fiverr does well
- Categories run from design to AI work
- Package prices are visible before you order
- Optional managed sourcing
- Imprint names the Israeli parent company
- Country sites in seven languages
Where Fiverr falls short
- Fee levels could not be verified
- Seller quality differs a lot
- Poor fit for open-ended projects
- The terms page does not render without scripts
Standout feature. Fiverr is the one platform here where the buyer starts from a priced package and never writes a brief.

Crème de la Crème is a French service that answers a client brief with three profiles from its community within 48 hours. The site addresses companies in the CAC 40 and SBF 120 indices, and the roles on the homepage include ML engineer, cloud architect, pen tester and product manager. Missions are tracked in real time, payments are automated, and a carbon footprint dashboard is offered per mission.
The legal notice names CRÈME DE LA CRÈME, SAS, registered in Paris under number 811 653 807, and refers to professional liability insurance. Portage, an umbrella payroll option, lets consulting firms put their consultants through the same system. The site is in French, pricing is on request, and the community is selective, so a freelancer cannot sign up and list a rate.
What Crème de la Crème does well
- Three profiles arrive within 48 hours
- Missions can be followed live
- Payments are automated
- Umbrella payroll is available
- SAS with a published Paris registration
Where Crème de la Crème falls short
- Service is French only
- No prices are shown
- Freelancers are admitted by selection
- Missions centre on France
Standout feature. Crème de la Crème pairs a curated shortlist with an umbrella payroll option, which suits consultancies placing their own people.
