European Alternatives to Anaplan

Looking for a European alternative to Anaplan? Anaplan, Inc. sells its connected planning platform, and its contact page lists San Francisco and San Ramon in California as its first offices. Teams that must keep budgets and forecasts under European contracts often ask for a vendor with an EU or UK contracting entity.

The European tools below cover planning, forecasting, consolidation and scenario modelling, from enterprise platforms such as Pigment and Jedox to smaller tools such as CoPlanner and Valsight's Vecto IFP.

How we rank these tools — 4-step process
  1. 1
    European ownership, verified

The company is headquartered and incorporated in the EU, EEA, the UK, Switzerland or Israel, and processes customer data in Europe or Israel. A US parent company disqualifies a tool from this page regardless of where its servers are.

  2. 2
    Category fit and hands-on review

What the tool actually does, who it suits, and where it falls short — checked against the vendor’s own documentation, changelog and pricing page rather than its marketing copy.

  3. 3
    Compliance and pricing check

GDPR posture, hosting location and the prices quoted on this page are verified against the vendor’s public pricing before publication, and re-checked when we revisit the category.

  4. 4
    Position on this page

Placement on this page can be paid, and that can affect which tools appear here and the order they appear in. It never buys a good review: a tool that fails the checks above is not here at any price, and payment does not change the shortcomings we write about. A vendor can ask us to correct a factual error — not to remove a criticism.

Vendors can pay for visibility on this page. It never changes what an entry says about a product, including the criticism, and we earn nothing when you click through to a vendor. Vendors can pay for more visibility, higher up on the review pages; it never affects which tools are listed. Editorial policy

Key takeaways

  • Anaplan, Inc. is a US company whose contact page lists San Francisco and San Ramon first, so a European customer signs with a US entity even when the account team sits in Frankfurt, London or Paris.
  • Valsight is the only tool on this page that publishes a euro price for an integrated planning product, EUR 99 per month or EUR 990 per year for Vecto IFP.
  • Corporate Planning states that its cloud runs on Microsoft Azure with the customer choosing Germany or another EU country as the data location.
  • Pigment contracts through Pigment SAS in Paris for France, Germany and other EEA customers, and offers Frankfurt or S3NS hosting.
  • Anaplan reports more than two million deployed models, a breadth none of the ten European tools on this page claims for itself.

Why people leave Anaplan

Anaplan, Inc. sells a cloud planning platform on which finance, sales, supply chain, workforce and retail teams build their own models. Its company page says it has delivered software since 2006, counts more than two million deployed models and names 2,800 customers, with 48 percent of the Fortune 50 among them. The contact page lists San Francisco and San Ramon first, with further offices in Frankfurt, Munich, London, Manchester, York, Paris and Milan.

People start looking at other tools for a mix of commercial and legal reasons. The pages checked publish no price list, so a budget only exists after a demo and a quote.

The contracting party is a Californian company, which matters to a finance director who has to explain to a board or an auditor why next year's pricing, headcount and acquisition assumptions sit with a vendor under US law. A planning model is also a build that somebody has to own for years.

None of that makes Anaplan a poor product. Few European vendors list as many packaged applications on one platform, and the gap shows when a group plans demand, inventory and workforce next to the P&L. The useful question is not which tool equals Anaplan, but which parts of your Anaplan estate you actually use and which of them a European vendor covers under an EU, UK or Swiss contract.

  • A US contracting entity for the most sensitive numbers in the company A forecast contains the figures a company shows only to its board and its bank. Anaplan, Inc. is based in California, so a European customer holds a contract with a US company even when the offices it deals with are in Frankfurt or London. For regulated sectors and public bodies, a vendor registered in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland or the UK is simply an easier line in a procurement file.
  • Pricing that has to be asked for The home, company and contact pages show no tariff. That is normal for enterprise planning, and several European vendors work the same way, but two of the tools here break the pattern: Valsight prints EUR 99 per month for Vecto IFP and Brixx shows monthly plans. A team that only needs one integrated plan can compare a list price with a quote.
  • A platform you have to model yourself Anaplan describes an open and adaptable platform with a model builder behind packaged applications. That freedom comes with model ownership, usually a certified builder or a partner. Tools such as Corporate Planning and CoPlanner ship a standard controlling structure for German-speaking finance teams, so less of the architecture has to be designed from scratch.
  • One platform for every function, which many finance teams never use Anaplan lists applications for finance, sales, supply chain, workforce and retail. A finance department that uses only budgeting and a rolling forecast pays for a platform designed for much more. A narrower vendor such as Valsight, Jedox or Brixx can match that smaller footprint, and the mismatch between what is licensed and what is used is a common trigger for a review.

What you have to replace, not just match

Start with the models, not the logo. List every Anaplan model your company runs, who edits it, which systems feed it and which reports or exports leave it.

Anaplan names finance applications such as Integrated Financial Planning, Financial Consolidation, Disclosure Management and Profitability Analysis, and a European tool can cover the first two without covering the others. Consolidation is the clearest split: Lucanet, Hypergene and Corporate Planning treat it as a core product, while Brixx does not list it at all.

Then count the non-finance use. Where Anaplan also carries sales forecasting, territory planning, demand planning or workforce plans, a finance-first replacement will not take those over. Board International lists supply chain, workforce and retail assortment planning among its uses and comes closest in breadth. Everything else either stays in Anaplan for a transition period or moves to a separate tool.

Finally price the integration layer. Anaplan lists data management and integrations as a platform capability, and your connectors to the ERP, the HR system and the data warehouse are rebuilt in any new product. Corporate Planning cites more than 350 standard upstream integrations and Lucanet 300 adapters, both according to the vendors, which shortens that work only if your source systems are on their lists.

How each alternative compares to Anaplan

#1

Valsight

Scenario-first planning from Berlin, plus a cheap fixed-structure product for small companies

Berlin, GermanyPlatform on request. Vecto IFP: EUR 99 per month or EUR 990 per year#1 in FP&A and Planning Software

Best for: Finance teams that test scenarios live in meetings, and small companies without a controlling department

Valsight GmbH in Berlin organises a model around drivers and assumptions rather than budget lines. A scenario is a change to a driver, and the effect on the result appears within seconds, according to the vendor. Where Anaplan teams typically build a scenario as a separate version or a copy of a model, Valsight treats the question itself as the unit of work, and an AI agent can draft scenarios from a typed question.

The second product matters for a different reader. Vecto IFP builds an integrated P&L, balance sheet and cash flow plan from base-year statements, takes a DATEV export or an upload template, and costs EUR 99 per month. The Anaplan pages we checked show no comparable entry point, though Vecto IFP is a fixed structure, not a model builder.

What Valsight does better than Anaplan

  • Vecto IFP has a printed price and a 30-day trial
  • Scenario simulation is the main idea, not an extra feature
  • Berlin company that names its CERT and ISO officer

Where Valsight is a step down from Anaplan

  • Fewer packaged applications outside finance and personnel or sales planning
  • Platform pricing and hosting region are not published

Standout against Anaplan. Valsight is the only tool on the page with a published monthly price for an integrated three-statement plan.

Pigment

The nearest modern planning platform by approach, with a French contracting entity

Paris, FranceFree trial available, pricing on request#2 in FP&A and Planning Software

Best for: Finance teams ready to rebuild a connected planning model in a browser-first tool

Pigment SAS in Paris is the European vendor that most resembles Anaplan in how it describes itself: business planning on a shared model, with finance use cases that include budgeting, P&L, cash flow and balance sheet planning, long-range planning and consolidation. Reports sit on the planning model, so a board pack changes when the plan does. SOC 2 Type 2 is stated on its security page.

The contract is where it differs. The online master services agreement assigns France, Germany and other EEA countries to Pigment SAS, while Pigment Inc. serves the United States, Canada and Mexico. Customers choose Frankfurt or Oregon for storage, or S3NS, a SecNumCloud-certified cloud operated by a Thales subsidiary, for sovereign hosting.

What Pigment does better than Anaplan

  • French contracting entity for EEA customers
  • Frankfurt or S3NS hosting chosen per customer
  • Free trial available before a sales process

Where Pigment is a step down from Anaplan

  • Standard hosting still runs on Google Cloud
  • No published prices, the same as Anaplan
  • Not a disclosure or ESEF tool

Standout against Anaplan. Pigment is the only tool here that names a SecNumCloud-certified sovereign hosting option.

Corporate Planning

A Hamburg controlling suite with certified consolidation and German or EU cloud hosting

Hamburg, GermanyNot published on the pages checked#3 in FP&A and Planning Software

Best for: German-speaking controlling departments wanting planning, consolidation and IBCS reporting from one vendor

CP Corporate Planning GmbH in Hamburg (Amtsgericht Hamburg, HRB 178472) sells a set of controlling solutions on one technology platform: operational and financial planning, consolidation, risk, liquidity, personnel and investment controlling. It calls itself a Proalpha Group company and reports more than 5,000 controlling projects over 35 years, both according to the vendor.

For a team leaving Anaplan, the appeal is a structure that already follows German controlling practice. Its consolidation is described as certified under IDW PS 880 and IDW RS FAIT 1 and 4, and reporting follows IBCS. The cloud is a full-service offer on Azure in Germany or another EU country, which keeps the data in the EU but leaves a US-parented provider below the vendor.

What Corporate Planning does better than Anaplan

  • Consolidation certified under German audit-software standards
  • Ready controlling modules instead of a blank model
  • Named managing director and a register number

Where Corporate Planning is a step down from Anaplan

  • Prices not published and self-hosting not described
  • Tuned to German practice, less obvious for other markets

Standout against Anaplan. Corporate Planning is the tool on the page that couples planning with a consolidation module audited against IDW standards.

Jedox

Planning with an Excel add-in and an on-premise route Anaplan does not describe

Freiburg, GermanyCustom pricing by users and modules#1 in Business Intelligence

Best for: Finance teams that want Excel as the interface and a governed database underneath

Jedox GmbH in Freiburg has existed since 2002 and built its reputation on one trade: finance staff keep working in Excel, while the numbers sit in a multidimensional database with workflow and approvals. Entries write back through the add-in, which replaces the stream of emailed spreadsheet versions many planning processes still run on.

The difference from Anaplan shows in deployment. Jedox runs in an EU cloud or fully on your own infrastructure, so a company that cannot let planning data leave its network has a way to comply. The price of that flexibility is a project with a partner, and the visualisation is weaker than a dedicated analytics tool.

What Jedox does better than Anaplan

  • Excel add-in with genuine write-back
  • On-premise deployment is supported
  • Planning and reporting in one model since 2002

Where Jedox is a step down from Anaplan

  • Implementation needs a project, a partner and a real budget
  • Weaker ad-hoc visualisation than analytics-first tools
  • Pricing is quoted by users and modules

Standout against Anaplan. Jedox is the one on the page where the finance team can stay in Excel and run the server in its own data centre.

#5

CoPlanner

An Austrian Excel-client planner on Windows and SQL Server, deployable on-premise

Graz, AustriaNot published on the pages checked#5 in FP&A and Planning Software

Best for: Controlling teams in Austria, Germany and Switzerland that already run Microsoft infrastructure

CoPlanner Software & Consulting GmbH in Graz (FN 220853i) provides planning, forecasting, liquidity, personnel and sales planning, reporting and consolidation. Its system requirements list clients for Excel, Word and PowerPoint, with a server on Windows Server 2022 or 2025 and Microsoft SQL Server 2022.

Against Anaplan, that is almost the opposite design philosophy. CoPlanner is a controlling application installed in your landscape, with a standard model for a quick start, and not a hosted model-building platform. That suits an organisation with Microsoft expertise in-house and little appetite for a third-party multi-tenant cloud, but it cannot replace Anaplan models that serve supply chain or sales.

What CoPlanner does better than Anaplan

  • Excel, Word and PowerPoint clients
  • On-premise install on your own Windows stack
  • Austrian company with named directors

Where CoPlanner is a step down from Anaplan

  • Needs Windows Server and Microsoft SQL Server
  • Prices and the cloud hosting region are not published

Standout against Anaplan. CoPlanner is the only tool on the page whose server requirements are published down to Windows Server and SQL Server versions.

Board International

The widest European platform for planning outside finance, from Switzerland

Lugano, SwitzerlandCustom enterprise pricing#2 in Business Intelligence

Best for: Large organisations that plan finance, supply chain and workforce in the same model

Board International SA in Lugano has built a no-code planning and BI platform since 1994. Its argument is that separate reporting and planning tools will disagree, so it keeps both in one data model. It lists financial planning, sales and operations planning, supply chain, workforce and retail assortment planning as uses, and that range is the closest on this page to Anaplan's own list of applications.

Switzerland sits outside both the EU and the US, with an EU adequacy decision, which some buyers want and some need to assess. European data centres and on-premise are both available. Board is an enterprise commitment, with quoted licences, partner-led implementation and a timeline counted in months.

What Board International does better than Anaplan

  • Planning across finance, supply chain and workforce in one model
  • Swiss vendor with European data centres or on-premise
  • No-code applications owned by business analysts

Where Board International is a step down from Anaplan

  • Enterprise pricing and a multi-month rollout
  • Interface less modern than visualisation-first tools

Standout against Anaplan. Board International is the tool whose list of planning domains is closest in width to Anaplan's.

#7

Lucanet

A consolidation and disclosure platform where planning is one module among several

Berlin, GermanyBasic, Advanced and Professional packages, quote on request, minimum term 12 months#7 in FP&A and Planning Software

Best for: Groups that close, consolidate and report externally and want planning on the same data

Lucanet AG, registered in Berlin (HRB 97214 B), starts its solution list with financial consolidation and intercompany reconciliation, followed by planning, forecasting and group controlling. It also sells disclosure management and XBRL products and names ESEF and UKSEF. Anaplan lists Financial Consolidation and Disclosure Management too, but Lucanet builds its whole offer around the close.

The terms are clear but not generous. Licences come as Basic, Advanced or Professional packages with a minimum term of 12 months, the platform runs on AWS, and the vendor acts as a processor under standard contractual clauses. It is built for groups, so a company that only needs a driver-based forecast would be buying more than it uses.

What Lucanet does better than Anaplan

  • XBRL, ESEF and UKSEF coverage listed
  • Consolidation and intercompany reconciliation first
  • German parent with a UK entity

Where Lucanet is a step down from Anaplan

  • Runs on AWS and has a 12-month minimum term
  • Narrower outside finance
  • No public pricing

Standout against Anaplan. Lucanet is the only tool here that sells XBRL tagging products next to its planning module.

Hypergene

A Nordic consolidation and planning platform with a Sweden-only data option

Malmö, SwedenPricing on request via contact form#8 in FP&A and Planning Software

Best for: Nordic and European groups wanting consolidation with eliminations plus budgets on one platform

Hypergene AB in Malmö, with offices in Stockholm and Gothenburg, describes 20 years of experience and more than 600 customers. Its finance product, the Profitbase CFO platform, shows every group entity with ownership, currency and goodwill, performs automatic eliminations by counterparty code or account and lets users drill from group figures down to voucher level.

Planning shares the platform, so budgets and forecasts can be compared with group actuals without a transfer step. The trust centre states ISO 27001 certification and a deployment where all storage and processing take place in Sweden. Several pages are partly in Swedish, and pricing sits behind a contact form.

What Hypergene does better than Anaplan

  • Swedish storage and processing option
  • Drill-down from group figures to voucher level
  • ISO 27001 stated for the company

Where Hypergene is a step down from Anaplan

  • No XBRL or ESEF tagging listed
  • Smaller than global suppliers, with no single imprint page found
  • Partly Swedish-only content

Standout against Anaplan. Hypergene is the tool here with a named Swedish-only storage and processing option.

Brixx

A UK forecasting tool for small teams, nowhere near an Anaplan estate

United Kingdom, United KingdomMonthly plans, shown at $25, $50 and $75 per month when checked#9 in FP&A and Planning Software

Best for: Founders and advisers who need a ten-year forecast and lender-ready reports without a project

Brixx Online Limited, governed by the law of England and Wales per its terms, sells three monthly plans that differ in the number of plans (one, three or five) and the forecast horizon (one, three or ten years). When we checked, the prices were shown in US dollars, so confirm the currency for your country before comparing.

Feature-wise it lists scenario planning, cash flow forecasting, reports for lenders and tracking against plan. Statutory consolidation, intercompany eliminations and XBRL are not listed, so it cannot replace Anaplan in any group of size. It belongs on this page for the many small companies that bought a platform far larger than their need.

What Brixx does better than Anaplan

  • Monthly plans visible on the pricing page
  • Forecast up to ten years on the larger plan
  • Usable without an implementation project

Where Brixx is a step down from Anaplan

  • No statutory consolidation or XBRL
  • Hosting region not stated

Standout against Anaplan. Brixx is the cheapest way on this page to test whether a spreadsheet forecast can leave Excel.

SAP Analytics Cloud

German-parent planning that makes most sense on top of an SAP landscape

Walldorf, GermanyNot published on the pages checked#10 in FP&A and Planning Software

Best for: Large organisations whose ledgers already run on SAP and who plan on the same data

SAP SE (Handelsregister Mannheim, HRB 719915, seat in Walldorf) lists unified planning, budgeting and forecasting, scenario and what-if analysis, workflows with comments and approvals, and AI-assisted prediction for SAP Analytics Cloud. The Excel add-in writes planning data back in real time, according to the product page.

Treat the contract with care. The SAP site refers to SAP SE or an SAP affiliate company, and the entity named in your order form can differ from the German parent. Hosting is not stated on the product page and pricing was not found on the pages we checked. For a company already on SAP, planning on the same data can save integration effort, though it also deepens the dependency on one supplier.

What SAP Analytics Cloud does better than Anaplan

  • German parent with a register number
  • Planning on the same data as an SAP ledger
  • Excel add-in with write-back

Where SAP Analytics Cloud is a step down from Anaplan

  • Contracting entity may be an affiliate
  • Enterprise rollout and no published price

Standout against Anaplan. SAP Analytics Cloud is the one tool where the planning layer and the source ledger can come from the same vendor.

What actually breaks when you switch

Data export is the first practical task. Plan the extraction of lists, hierarchies, history and each model's calculation logic well before the contract end date, and document the logic in words, because no European tool reads Anaplan formulas.

Budget the time to reconcile: run the last closed year in both systems and tie every line before anyone relies on the new numbers. Users are the second task. Planners who learned Anaplan modules need retraining, and the finance team has to agree who owns the new model, as the vendor will not do it for you.

Contracts come last but should come early. Check the Anaplan renewal date and notice period, since a parallel run costs two licences for a while.

On the European side, ask for the contracting entity, the hosting region and the sub-processors in writing, and compare them with what the vendor pages say. Integrations to the ERP, HR system and warehouse have to be rebuilt, and only Corporate Planning (350 plus upstream systems) and Lucanet (300 plus adapters) quote connector counts, both according to the vendors.

Is a European tool a drop-in replacement for an Anaplan model?

No tool here imports an Anaplan model and runs it. Moving means rebuilding the dimensions, the calculation logic, the access rules and the data feeds in the new product, normally as a project with the vendor or a partner. How large that project is depends on the model: a budget and a rolling forecast with a handful of lists is a few weeks of work, while a connected model that feeds sales quotas and a supply plan is a programme.

A practical test is to rebuild one self-contained model first, usually the P&L forecast, run it in parallel for one closing cycle and compare results line by line. Board International is the tool on this page that lists planning outside finance, so it is the likelier candidate when your Anaplan use is broad, with Jedox and Pigment next. If it is mostly finance, any of the ten is a fair candidate.

Does moving to a European vendor remove US exposure completely?

It removes the US contracting party, not every US component. Pigment runs on Google Cloud by default, with S3NS as a French sovereign option. Lucanet runs on AWS. Corporate Planning runs on Microsoft Azure with EU data location. The vendor is European in each case, the infrastructure underneath is often not, and each of those vendors says so on its own pages.

The tools that go further are the ones you can run yourself. Jedox and CoPlanner both allow on-premise deployment, so the data can sit on servers you control. Hypergene offers a Swedish-only storage and processing option. Ask each shortlisted vendor for its contracting entity, its sub-processor list and the exact hosting region in the order form before you sign.

Which one to pick

For a finance-led planning estate that wants a modern browser model and a European contract, start with Pigment, then look at Jedox if Excel must stay and on-premise matters. If the Anaplan footprint spans supply chain and workforce, Board International is the broadest European answer. Groups whose real job is the close and the external report belong with Lucanet, Hypergene or Corporate Planning, with Lucanet the one that adds XBRL.

Small and mid-sized companies should not try to copy an enterprise estate. Valsight with Vecto IFP, Brixx or CoPlanner fits a team of two or three people better than a platform with a model owner. SAP Analytics Cloud fits when SAP is already the system of record. Where Anaplan carries many functions and is used well, staying put or moving in stages is a legitimate answer.

Frequently Asked Questions

It depends on how much of the platform you use. Pigment from Paris and Jedox from Freiburg are the closest in scope to a general planning platform, and Board International from Lugano adds supply chain and workforce planning. Valsight from Berlin is built around driver-based scenarios, Lucanet and Hypergene lead with consolidation, and CoPlanner or Corporate Planning suit controlling teams that work in Excel.

Yes, with some of them. Jedox has an Excel add-in with write-back, CoPlanner ships an Excel client for Excel 2021 and Microsoft 365 desktop, and SAP Analytics Cloud has an add-in that writes planning data back to the platform. Pigment, Valsight and Brixx work in the browser, with Valsight accepting a DATEV export or an upload template for Vecto IFP.

Two of them do. Valsight lists Vecto IFP at EUR 99 per month or EUR 990 per year with a 30-day trial, and Brixx shows monthly plans that were priced in US dollars when we checked on 27 October 2026. Every other tool on this page, including Pigment, Jedox, Board International, Lucanet, Hypergene, Corporate Planning, CoPlanner and SAP Analytics Cloud, sells through a quote.

Lucanet, Hypergene and Corporate Planning present consolidation as a core product. Corporate Planning states that its consolidation is certified under IDW PS 880 and IDW RS FAIT 1 and 4, and Hypergene lists automatic eliminations with drill-down to voucher level. Pigment lists consolidation as a use case, while Brixx and Valsight do not describe statutory consolidation on the pages we checked.

Corporate Planning offers Germany or another EU country on Azure, Pigment offers Frankfurt or S3NS, and Hypergene offers an option with all storage and processing in Sweden. Jedox and CoPlanner can run on your own infrastructure. Valsight, CoPlanner's cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud and Brixx do not state a hosting region on the pages checked, so ask in writing.
